Educational Litter course Available from 8th March 2021

Description

The litter pick is 90 minutes. The Little Litter Warriors program is designed to highlight community litter pollution through a fun and engaging litter pick or hunt for Wychavon pupils. The children learn first-hand about their local environment and the impact litter has on the wildlife, marine life, and their community areas. I have now teamed-up with Wychavon District Council to offer these sessions free of charge in schools throughout the all Wychavon schools over the next three years. This forms part of the council’s promise to tackle littering and plastic pollution.

Educational Litter Program

Who we are

Little Litter Warriors educational litter pick event for KS1, KS2, KS3 & KS4 pupils across the Wychavon District schools. This course is provided by Karen Blanchfield #litterheroes Ambassador for Keep Britain Tidy. 100% free to Wychavon Schools.
The Little Litter Warriors Ltd program is designed to highlight community litter pollution through a fun and engaging litter pick or hunt. The children learn first-hand about their local environment and the impact litter has on the wildlife, marine life, and their community areas.
I bring along vintage litter to visually impact the need for change in human behaviours. I have personally found these items whilst litter picking, and the children can see how litter can remain in our environment for many years to come when littered. The oldest piece I've collected has a sell by date of 1918. A questionnaire tick list is supplied to highlight how many crisps packets, drink bottles, sweet wrappers etc have been collected during the litter pick activity. We have lots of fun searching for an old piece of litter that the children can use in a show and tell activity in school with other year groups.
I have been a scout leader for 8 years, a community litter picker since April 2018 and a #Litterheroes Ambassador for Keep Britain Tidy. I have delivered this educational program through schools and community groups for the last two years engaging over 8,000 children.
I have now teamed-up with Wychavon District Council to offer these sessions free of charge in schools throughout the district over the next three years. This forms part of the council’s promise to tackle littering and plastic pollution.
